How Much Does New Caledonia Granite Cost Per Square Foot?

New Caledonia Granite is considered a budget granite countertop selection and will be available as a level 1 granite at most stone fabrication companies, and slab yards. New Caledonia is a solid choice for kitchen countertops for anyone looking to stay inside their granite allowance when building a home from scratch with a custom home builder. The average granite countertops cost for New Caledonia Granite will be between $30-40 depending on your local market. When searching for a countertop installation company you will commonly see many of them promoting granite countertops starting at $29.99 per square foot including installation. New Caledonia will more often than not be one of the color choices you’re offered at this base price point. For the budget consciousness buyer, this natural stone is a solid option.
Why Choose New Caledonia Granite?
As we touched on briefly above, New Caledonia is one of the more affordable granite varieties. The most prominent colors featured in New Caledonia are grays and whites. The shades range from light to dark grey with certain spots appearing to be more of a charcoal tone. There is very little variation between slabs in regards to this particular granite. The best way to describe the pattern effect of this granite would be speckled. One thing to take note of, if you’re unable to visit a slab yard, this is one of the few granites where it would be feasible to forego seeing your slabs in person. When selecting natural stone as the material for your kitchen, bathroom, or bar countertops usually selecting slabs in person is recommended. Just because New Caledonia Granite is considered a low level or budget selection doesn’t mean it’s not beautiful, the fact is it’s quarried in massive amounts for this very reason. The massive availability of this natural beauty is what keeps its price at such a reasonable level. The bottom line New Caledonia is a cheap granite, it’s still gorgeous, it just doesn’t deliver the same wow factor you might receive with some of the more expensive and less utilized granite colors.
